Unipart Group deepens partnership with SAP to accelerate evolution and expansion of IT Services expertise

Unipart employees at a Digital Communications Cell SAPMarch 2022 – SAP has extended its partnership with global logistics, consulting and manufacturing organisation, Unipart Group.

An existing SAP customer for 21 years, Unipart Group will now adopt S/4HANA on RISE with SAP to embrace cloud innovation and evolve its business as an IT services-led company.

The collaboration will also see Unipart Group strengthen its capability as an SAP Systems Integrator to empower its own customers to transition to cloud technology under RISE with SAP.

With roots in the automotive industry, Unipart Group has built a reputation as an industry world leader in manufacturing, logistics and consultancy.

Over time Unipart wants to use its extensive experience in logistics and ERP to commercialise solutions at pace and sell IT services beyond logistics, expanding its customer portfolio, which currently includes Jaguar Land Rover, Sky and NHS Supply Chain.

Turning to its existing partnership with SAP to accelerate its transformation into an agile technology company, Unipart Group hosted joint workshops and discovery sessions to define the best path forward. Recognising the necessity of the cloud to support its service expansion, Unipart chose to adopt RISE with SAP to provide the flexibility and bandwidth to scale its business and accelerate products to market. It can now enjoy access to a single Digital Core platform that delivers automated and simplified businesses processes, real-time data insights and near real-time sales and process visibility. This means it is better placed to understand and respond to the needs of customers and the wider market.

The move to embrace RISE with SAP both as part of its own IT estate, as well as an SAP Systems Integrator, ensures Unipart Group will significantly modernise its solutions and data architecture, offering its customers a product synonymous with a modern, innovative IT services company.

Yiannis Levantis, Group Chief Information Officer at Unipart, said: “Reinvention is part of our DNA, it means our transformation journey is never finished and that we can always better serve and provide innovative solutions to our customers. As we look to shift our business model towards being an IT services company first, with deep expertise in logistics, manufacturing and supply chain, expanding our capabilities alongside SAP has been the next step to make this a reality.”

Michiel Verhoeven, UK & Ireland Managing Director at SAP, added: “We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with an industry heavyweight in Unipart. As it evolves to become a truly digital-first company, RISE with SAP is the perfect solution to enable faster, more agile, automated and insight-driven business services. With more than two decades already behind our partnership, we’re excited to see where we can take Unipart next.”
